Be Here Now

Stay in your lane, lean into your season...

Getting teary-eyed this morning thinking about how fast the time flies... I put together this little video reel on Instagram & can’t stop thinking about it.

I know how tempting it is when your child is little. I know what it’s like to wish your kids were older, to wish you didn’t have to so many diapers to change, to wish they were just a *little* more self-sufficient… but I also know how fast it goes. 😭

And, in this season, it’s so apparent that I wished for a new season far more than I realized with my older kiddos. I guess that’s just another major benefit of having a nine-year-old and a newborn. I can’t kid myself. I can’t pretend it won’t go by in the blink of an eye. Because I know it will.

The “magic” of little only lasts for a short time. 4 years, 5 years at the most. That age from 0-4 is so precious. And if you haven’t been cherishing it, or you didn’t in the past, I do not want to guilt you. We cannot change the past. But, what we can do, is honor the season we are in now. We can lean into the stage of life we are in. Whether you have a newborn all the way to being an empty nester - there are things you can cherish and enjoy. There are things you can be grateful for.

Instead of worrying about the next stage or trying to rush ahead or worrying about whether your little one is reaching their milestones “in time” (not real), just be present.

Enjoy the way their eyes light up.
Marvel at their innocence.
Experience the magic of what it’s like to be witness to a miracle.

You were chosen for your little people. You are the exact right parent for the job. You. With all your regrets, your flaws, and your worst traits. God knew what He was doing when He gave you to your child and your child to you. You are both exactly what each other needed.

Friend, it isn’t worth it wishing for the next stage. It will come whether you wish it or not. Whether you are ready… or whether you aren’t.

Lean in while you still have a chance.

Be. Here. Now. ✨ You in?
